My boy gizmo was neutered on Wed, everything went fine. He came home and was almost back to his weird self. Eating and drinking fine. Woke this morning and he won't come out his hide, and hasn't touched his breakfast. He is on pain relief. Is this normal? Oh his wound looks fine. My anxiety is really high atm 😭

It would be best to have a vet check him over today if he seems subdued, particularly if he now doesn’t seem to be eating properly.
I would recommend that you switch to weighing him daily so you can more closely monitor his hay intake and step in with syringe feeding if he isn’t eating hay/loses weight

I hope he is ok, let us know how he gets on.

Hello. I’m sorry your boy is feeling unwell. Did you get him out of the hide and check him over? Did he seem ok? Was he walking about on his own? I’d call the vets as soon as they open and get him seen. Maybe the anaesthetic pain killers have worn off and he’s in a bit more pain today?

Update.. vets are happy how he's healing and think its just a blip, gave him injection to stimulate his eating. So fingers crossed 🤞

Glad you got him checked over. It is a worry when they are not themselves and they can deteriorate so quickly.

Can I just say “What a handsome boy!🥰🥰🥰

So glad that you got him checked over and that he’s hopefully doing better now. Maybe his “blip” was just a moment of mourning for his lost plums.

Glad you got him seen so quickly.
A blip can happen post-op and it’s always good to see a vet quickly.
Hope your handsome boy is back on track now.
