Hi everyone!
So, a little backstory - recently 3 of the pigs passed away (due to something poisonous in the hay :(), leaving Sylvia all alone. I started looking for a new friend for her, and saw someone advertising that they were rehoming their female piggy (I think the pig's companion passed, I'm not exactly sure)
I reached out to the person and they sent me this picture.

She's a very lovely pig, but I did notice that there seemed to be a little bald spot by her eye? Not sure if this is just me being paranoid, but my mind immediately jumped to Ringworm.

Does this look like Ringworm to you? Thanks in advance! :)

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible ending with a couple of your pigs, that is really tough.

To me it does look like it could be ringworm, although it can be hard to tell through a photo. I assume they haven't taken her to the vet?
It could be the start of ringworm, does she have any other symptoms? Has the original owner taken any steps to quarantine her or medicate her?

If you do decide to take her I would take her straight to the vet but first I would recommend bringing it up with the owner and even asking them to take her to the vet but as theyre getting rid of her they may not be keen. Please remember that ringworm is contagious and can/will spread to humans and other pigs if not treated/quarantined correctly.

I am not a vet and I am sure someone with more experience will be along soon, wishing you and her both the best. x

I'm unsure if they've taken her to a vet or not, but I assume no since they never mentioned anything about it to me. Also not sure about symptoms, I haven't met the piggy yet, they offered for me to meet her/pick her up tomorrow, but there are plenty of pigs in shelters nearby me, and if she does have ringworm I don't want to take the chance that she will have it, although I do feel sorry for her.

Thank you so much xx

You should realistically make your own thread to have more chance of people seeing it.
Also so people can keep this thread about the original issue
That spot could come from anything, maybe bashed it or got a scratch.

Look closer to see if it’s a bite and keep an eye on if he’s eating and acting normally.
If you’re still worried or he’s acting strange please take him to the vet.

That makes sense, do what’s best for you and your family/piggies.

I would recommend still asking about the vets/the patch next to her eye and maybe even recommend them to go to the vets if they haven’t already taken her but there’s only so much you can do.
