Hi all,

A bit of background:

My 5 year old boy Guinea pig might have lymphoma, although couldn’t be fully confirmed with the FNA the vet had done.

He has a big lump on his neck which seems to be growing bc it wasn’t this big last week. He has stopped wheeking. He also seems to have developed a conjunctivitis. He barely eats his hay. He does eat veggies and fruits.

He has lumps in other places as well, near his nipple, his back leg and his shoulder, and even both his jaw (very small that it could be missed). It also feels like he lost a bit of weight.

Idk, I guess my question is knowing all of this, I cannot accept he has lymphoma. Could this be an infection of some sort.

I’m beyond upset. I’ve had him since he was 3 months old so this is all hard to accept.

I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with this.
I wish we could tell you one way or another but it’s impossible to do that.
Only your fet can give you a diagnosis.
We can be here for you and offer a place of understanding and support.

I do know that getting this kind of diagnosis makes it feel as if the bottom has fallen out of the world., and it is clear that you love him so much.
You have begun the grieving process which starts as soon as we are given news like this so be patient with yourself.

Holding you in my heart ♥️

Thank you. I’ve known about it for two weeks now. And I’ve just been in denial. He has a vet visit tomorrow and I will be asking the doctor if it’s merely an infection he’s fighting off hence the swollen lymph nodes. Just typing all this out makes my heart heavy. He loves pellets and his veggies still so I’m glad he’s still eating. I’m also concerned about his brother… I think he knows somethings up bc he’s not as chaotic with Boba as he used to be. I’m just at a loss.
