So today I noticed my guinea pig (Maple) had a tiny bald patch in the middle of her back. I didn't really see any dandruff around it, and it wasn't really red. Although behind that bald patch behind both her ears (that I think most guineas have) she had sort of scaley looking skin. I'm kind of confused on if its actually fur mites because in the pictures I looked at, it was super red and had lots of dandruff around it.

-Inthe picture I attached, she's puffy because she's eating vegetables.(:

Hi!

Please have her vet checked; it can be mange mites, hay/fur mites or a fungal skin infection.
As a public place we are legally not allowed to diagnose without the appropriate qualification and without a hands-on diagnosis. We can only show you avenues to pursue with a vet.

Please never treat on spec with a skin condition before a vet trip; you are basically wiping the scene of crime and you are also delaying the appropriate good quality treatment. Mites and fungal require different treatment but can look more similar and appear in the same places than textbook images will suggest.

I agree that a trip to the vets is necessary to get the proper diagnosis and correct treatment. Hopefully it will very soon be sorted.

Is there anything I can do before we go to the vet? I'm only 14 and I don't have quite enough money to pay for it myself yet. For the picture I attached- do you think it will help her?
