i have two guinea pigs, and recently i noticed one of them has a bald spot near his hind legs. this, along with flaky skin, has led me to suspect a fungal infection.

i would take them to the vet, but I'm going on vacation in a couple days for about a week, and won't be able to squeeze in an appointment by then. any recommendations for anti-fungal shampoo, or other treatment options?

Hi and welcome
Here is our ringworm guide. I am not sure whether you are dealing with ringworm but the medications mentioned will work for any form of fungal. these things have a habit of turning up at the worst time possible - especially since vet access is not as easy in Canada..:(

1000021148.webpi noticed this bald spot on one of my piggies a day or two ago. some fur is coming off in tufts, with what seems to be like flaky skin with it. is this fungal, or mites?

I’m afraid it’s impossible for us to tell (not least because we aren’t vets).
Please do have your piggy seen by a vet for the correct diagnosis and treatment
