Possible ear fungus/mites/ear infection? Picture in comment

Hello, I noticed an odd-looking patch of skin around my piggie's ear. It looks brown and a bit leathery whereas the skin is pink and softer-looking around his other ear. Any idea what it could be? His behaviour hasn't changed at all and he's not scratching loads.
 
I’d get it checked out at the vets. One of my piggies ears became thick and white. He had mites that took six weeks to clear up.
 
I would say that looks normal, just dark pigmentation of skin, but if you are concerned get it checked out. Any sign of dandruff? Scabs?

Thanks for responding all. He's his perfectly normal lively self and doesn't seem to be in any pain or scratching so i think it's some fungus or similar. I've booked him in to the vet on Saturday just to be safe. :)
 
always worth a check up if concerned, the right thing to do
