Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone knew what this wart type spot could be from. My 4 and a half year old guinea, lily, has had quite dramatic fur loss over the past month or so. She has no fur on her belly and is loosing a bit round her wrists and ankles. She was at the vets a couple of weeks ago for an eye ulcer, which she had a course of eye drops for and the vet gave 4 weeks worth of mite treatment whilst we were there for the fur loss. The area itself is not swollen, red, agitated in any kind. Lily let us look at it and in fact was giving out kisses when we very gently touched it, so it it obviously not causing her any pain or discomfort which is very good. She does itch a lot in that area and has been pulling at her fur recently, not anymore then her late sister Clover used to though before she died late July, so now Lily lives on her own. I'm thinking could probably be parasite related but was wondering if anyone has any ideas or anything before we take her back to the vets if the mite treatment does not help the fur loss. Thank you :)

Hi, as you say she has lost quite a bit of fur recently and is itching alot, I would mention this to the vet if the mite treatment does not work. I do not have any experience with this sort of issue. Hope you get to the bottom of the problem.

Fur loss can also be indicative of pain (if she is biting it herself) or other issues like ovarian cysts.
I would definitely take her back to the vet and ask them to take another look.

I’d definitely take her back to the vets to get the “lump” looked at. She might be biting herself because of pain somewhere. Good luck.
