My boy Percy has powdery/gritty calcium deposits in his urine and a pink substance. I'm attaching a photo. There are a few more calcium spots and pink spots on his bedding, all small. I assumed it was blood and called his vet. He put him on meloxicam and Baytril because they think it is a UTI. (The vet didn't have a chance to see him in person.)
I just lost my other boy this week, he had a kidney stone, a UTI and cancer. He was 7 years old. So I am very raw from that.
Am I overreacting? Percy had carrots recently. Is this blood or just pigment from carrots or some other veg?
I have not heard Percy make any pain noises while peeing.
Thank you for any help.
