Since Wednesday, Poppy has begun to be a bit on the nippy side with my other three girls. ESPECIALLY the new piggy.
I thought I had all 4 of them bonded, and they were getting on nicely, sitting in the cottage together, eating food together and snuggling but since Wednesday she has been really rough with Alice. No blood has been drawn yet. The other two have nipped Alice a few times, but not to the extent of chasing her around the hutch like Poppy has.

Poppy has also snapped at Amy (My dominant piggy) and she's had a few spats at her sister Ella. Ella isn't taking any cheek from her so they're both there 'yawning' and chattering their teeth at each other. Ella seems to also be waving her behind from side to side. Could it be possible the behaviour is due to them being on heat?

I'm just concerned because I don't really want to end up separating Poppy or any of the other sows from each other.

Oh and Poppy is 9 months old.

Will let someone more experience answer, but I thought teeth chattering & yawning were signs of possible fights to follow ;/

I just caught Poppy trying to mount Amy only to get booted off.
So it doesn't matter. Turns out Poppy is on heat.

Thanks anyway :)

Just to add sometimes bonding can take time and the dominance cane be challanged daily for a short period of time so it just might be testing times too whilst everyone gets settled into the new routine/ and whose top pig :)
