I've got 2 girlies, about 4 months old. They are still in the process of deciding who's boss, Poppy rumbles almost every day, Maisie completely ignores her. Then Poppy has 2 or 3 days off from rumbling every few weeks so Maisie rumbles and Poppy ignores her. Poppy is the largest by about 30 grams, always has been, but Maisie is most definately the brains of the operation, so I'm not sure who will be the eventual winner! They won't cuddle up with each other, they do have the occasional snap in each other's direction, but other than that they are the best of friends.
Yesterday during pen time, it was Poppy's turn to rumble and Maisie was ignoring her as usual, going about her business popcorning away in the big furry bed and Poppy ran over, jumped in the bed, tried to push Maisie out. After a few circles, each with nose to the other's bum, Poppy tried to pee on Maisie's head, I saw her try to angle her bum for maximum effect! Maisie ran off, but not crying, then Poppy ran off and they started playing again.
Now I know that sows pee in the face of boars if they're not 'in the mood' but these 2 are definately girls, and neither has ever tried to mount the other in the battle to be boss,so I'm assuming this just another sign of Poppy's attempt at dominance pow-pow
Anyway I think what I'm trying to ask is if this is normal? Should I start following Maisie around with a wipe to get the pee off or will this be a very occasional thing? Poppy did it once before not long after I first got them but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and decided she didn't know Maisie was there! Anybody else have a deadly pee squirter?
