Hope everyone is well! Thought id post a wee update on my girls!
It's been over a year since I rescued little dolly and she's doing great. She's a shy but sweet girl and loves interacting with poppet and Rowan through the bars. She gets on great with crunchie and loves her cosies. She is quite a snuffly pig and sometimes needs a spot of metacam to calm it down. She has a trail of hair behind her that grows when I blink! It needs trimmed often, much to her dislike! She'll be 3 at the beginning of the year.
Crunchie, my little ginger diva is doing great at the moment. We've been up and down a few times and went through a spat of practically living at the vets but the past couple of months have been great. Thankfully her bladder no longer bothers her, she used to suffer terribly with IC but her flares are practically none existent now and her urine is blood free on dipstick, which hasn't been the case since 2014! She is over 7.5 years now and naturally arthritis has reared its ugly head. Crunchie was found to have it in her hips, knees and mildly in her shoulders too with one of her knees looking pretty nasty on x-ray. She can't tolerate higher doses of tramadol and the metacam and glucosamine was no longer enough for her. We struggled for a while and even got to a point of the pain affecting her appetite and weight. Crunchie started her first laser therapy session a couple months ago and it has worked wonders. She goes to a pet therapy centre every Friday without fail and has the laser therapy on knees, shoulders and hips. She has now had 11 weekly sessions and I will continue with these for life. She is so much more mobile, less stiff and off her tramadol all together. She's holding a steady weight of 930g and looks great! Here she is enjoying her weekly therapy whilst munching on her veggies!
