Popcorning!

My Guinea pigs have only just started popcorning (usually when I clean their cage and rearrange it) but today I decided to let them run around the house and they're going nuts! Just doing laps of the house for the last 15 minutes.

Is this normal? They look like they're hyped up on caffeine! It's pretty damn cute.
 
Mine popcorn in their cage but when they have floor time they go absolutely nuts. One of them looks like a bucking bronco in a rodeo :) So yeah, I'd say it was completely normal.
 
my guineas love free roam time i just let the free in the dining room and today was the first time id seen peppa the older of the two popcorn (she is rather large) i could almost see the look on her face saying 'ooo did i do that weeheehee' :))
 
They're such funny little creatures! I wasn't as excited as my boyfriend to get them at first but I'm completely obsessed now! I love everything they do.
 
I love to see mine popcorn they so love having the freedom to run round.
 
You'll get zooming, the "doing laps" as you call it, when they're happy and have plenty of space to run around in.

Popcorning and zooming are just generally great signs that you have happy piggies so well done you :)

I remember when I saw my first popcorn and thought my piggy was having a seizure mallethead

Sometimes they're so full of energy and are so happy that their popcorns are ridiculous :))
 
I have just got my two girls an indoor run and they went crazy for ages we have made them a house( rather like a dolls house) they loved it running around, I thought they looked like they were having a fit, there both snuggled up in some hay having a sleep, I'm not surprised though ! Lovely to watch xx
