So, I've got a new piggy. It's been a little bit less than a month, and my piggy is being wonderfully sociable. I was really worried, because when I first read up on Guinea Pigs, it seemed as though I would have a lot more trouble than I have been.
So, the thing is, when she's on my lap and I'm petting her, she makes little noises (That's I'm still not entirely convinced are happy noises despite the youtube videos assuring me of it) and climbs around on my legs and tummy. Eventually, the amount of noise she's making scares me a little and put her back in her cage. I found a new way to place her back in her cage without her freaking out too much, and very recently (it's been a couple of days) every time I put her back in the cage, she popcorns like a nut.
Did she really enjoy her lap time, or is she just really happy to be back in her cage?
GLaDOS and I appreciate it. :)

It sounds like she is really happy to be in her home. Will you get her a friend? Guinea pigs are social animals and need company of their own kind. They get very lonely living alone and can become depressed.

You might find this link helpful re the noises........ you will find that you and your little girl will learn together about her noises :) i do find that they will communicate with you and tell you what they want........aka...........WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK that is usually for food :(|)
It does sound like your little one is loving snuggles and her house :)

We're looking into getting her a friend, but the cage that we bought her is a little small. If we get another little baby, they will have very little room. We're looking for a larger cage, and we've been letting her play in the bathroom every couple of days.

And I've looked on all the websites that I can find about her noises. I'm just worried about the cuddling not being her cup of tea. But I guess we'll learn more about each other. :)

Both my pigs popcorn when they go back in their cage, but I think this is because we clean it out whilst they are having cuddles / floor time and they love going into a clean cage - when I do a poop pick Burt popcorns like crazy! It sounds to me like you are doing everything right and you will get to know your pig better as you get more used to them.

Why dont you make a c and c cage? They are great. You can give her much more space and they work out cheaper then buying a cage anyway.

We've looked into C and C cages. :) We're excited to make her a new cage!

Thank you for all your support!
