Tia is now over 6 she’s always been fit & healthy until now. She has started, having very soft stools, it’s not diarrhoea, just soft. Tia, Rosie,& Chester walk through it, & I have to wash all their feet 2 or 3 times a day. The new fleece is, so badly stained I may have to throw it. But Tia is worth more than a new fleece.
Nothing has changed. No new foods, they were taken off nuggets probably a year ago. I,m wondering whether to put her back on nuggets, and reduce their fresh food. They always have plenty of Timothy Hay. The only thing I can think of is it, the heat. I can’t think of anything else. Tia is my first guinea pig, i love her so much, I’m gonna be devastated if I lose her.

With soft stools it’s best to remove all fresh veggies, fruits and grass from the diet for 24 -48 hours until the poop returns to normal. If it doesn’t firm up in that time then I think a vet visit May be advisable.

Have you tried a probiotic.
Our Ruby is over five years old these days and I find she has the odd bout of slightly soft poos with no obvious cause.
She lives alone so can't rely on other piggies for the odd poop to help with gut bacteria so I always give her a coupe of doses of Benebac and that seems to sort things out perfectly for her.

Aww, hope she’ll be ok, it’s so worrying when they’re not right and we don’t know what’s wrong.

Thanks for the advice VickiA not sure how I can though, all of them (I have 3) wheek when it’s dinner time, so she’s going to be separated. She will know the others are being fed.

Benebac can be found online at several places; I just googled it when mine have had to have it.

Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind. I take whoever is off veggies out for a cuddle and some Timothy Hay as a treat while the OH pops the veggies in for the others. There’s a lot of whisker sniffing when the go back in but the veggies are all gone.
You could also use ProC which you can buy from P@H or online. Put a pinch in water then syringe it to her. Mine love the taste and think it’s a treat, while it’s doing them loads of good.

Thanks for the advice, where do I get benebac from. It may be a
It is basically a probiotic.
I know you can get them in online easily in the UK, although they might not have the same name.
Benebac is used across mainland Europe, but I am sure there are others.
