Hey these posts are always helpful for me, but I can’t see anything about this. I have 5 guinea pigs 1 neutured male and all the rest females. Today we had our girl muffin but a chunk out of her sisters face today ( we are going to use a saline solution to keep it clean and keep an eye on her and will take her to the vet if it doesn’t heal or looks infected) but it was so out of character for muffin to do so they’ve always gotten along, it’s her best friend out of the herd. So we picked her up to check her out if she had any wounds but just seen this large mucus stuff coming out of her rear end. On closer inspection it’s only coming out the female parts not her anus, inside her ears look wet and her mouth is really like wet and droolie, we can’t get her into the vet until Monday morning. She’s still eating and drinking we’ve given her a 0.1 dose of calpol as she’s only 5-6 months old. Has anyone have any tips to help relive her of being irritated or uncomfortable and what they think it is and if I should be taking her to the out of hours or can she wait ?

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am very sorry but Muffin sounds like she's quite poorly. Mucus coming from her female parts could be a serious problem with her reproductive system / womb and the fact she is drooling is very serious. Please have her seen by the out of hours vet as an emergency. I don't think this can wait until Monday

:agr: Please have her seen as soon as possible. Please also don’t self medicate her. It ‘wipes the crime scene’ and will mask any symptoms she may show when she sees the vet.

All the best and hopefully it’s something simple. Is she back in with the others or you’ve separated her? Did you see what lead to the bite?

:agr:

So Muffin has bitten another piggy?

If I’ve read that correctly, then both piggies need to see a vet today.
The other piggy for the bite wound - she should be seen today for pain relief and antibiotics

And Muffin needs to be seen to find out what is going on with the mucus and drooling. That itself isn’t normal, but biting another piggy enough to cause a wound, particularly if they normally get on, would constitute a serious enough change in behaviour that she needs to be seen by a vet. A change in behaviour can often be one of the first signs of an illness.

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry for the situation.
I agree with the others in saying a vet visit is needed as soon as possible.
