hi everyone i noticed yesterday that my 2 year old molly had a blueish cloudy eye with a white dot in middle.i took her2 vets straight away,he said it looks like an injury.I checked the hutch and run but coudnt find anything sharp,so it might of been 1 of the other girls. He gave me some anti biotic drops for it,but said the white dot may burst, then that will cause big problems.has any1 else had this,if so did it clear up?:(

Hi
I havent had this happen to mine but I know they can get hay poke injuries to the eye. Just keep up the antibiotics and she should be fine :)
I am sure others will be along with their experiences shortly.

Poke injuries are fairly common.Usually caused by a sharp bit of hay.The oblue opaque look is natures way of resting the eye to allow it to heal.It will clear up fairly quickly.I have never known the white spot to burst.I do not use antibiotic drops because the eye will heal on it`s own.

Yeah I've had a problem similar. My piggie poked her eye with a piece of hay and she developed an ulcer which took about 4-6 weeks to heal completely. I think she had tiacil eye drops which didn't do much but then after about 3 weeks they were changed to fucilthamic ointment (i think) which did the trick. Like MaryH said the cloudiness is the eye healing.
