Hi..I've not been on for a while - just don't know where the time goes!

I noticed Winny's lump (she's had a it a good while now) on her shoulder had gotten bigger so she was booked in for 2 weeks time to have it removed but Wednesday night I noticed her bum was really wet when I transferred from the floor run to her cage... I thought i had timed it wrong and she had just done a big wee.. but she was REALLY wet then I noticed the smell..... I gave her a little bum bath but she was wet through again in the morning so I knew something was up...

Got her in to see Ellie@Derwent Valley Vets Friday morning ( cancelled my own GP appointment to take her - that's love )... she managed to get loads of urine out of her and took a sample - very dark and cloudy but not a lot of blood... She is on antibiotics for that BUT Ellie was examining her top to toe and felt more lumps and her lymph nodes were enlarged so she suspects the worse - cancer.. She took Winny out the room to do a biopsy - I heard Winny's protests bless her..

I cried all the way home - about an hour ...

Results will be in next week - I know there isn't going to be much we can do if it is cancer :(

just wanted to post as i know you will all understand x

Huge hugs, such hard news to hear. Just try to remind yourself about how quick you have acted to keep winny comfortable. Hope you aren't waiting too long for the results

I am so sorry to hear about Winny :( I've lost two piggies to lymphoma. If it does turn out to be cancer, all I can advise is to make lot's of memories and take lot's of photos. Cherish the time you have left together (((hugs))) x

Waiting for results is the worst. I hope it’s nothing. But if it is then at least there might be options. If there are no options then you can give Winny lots of happy today’s. Keep us posted. We are here for you. ❤️

:hug:Sending you big hugs, let’s pray the prognosis isn’t as bad as you suspect 🤞Poor Winny, she is in the best of hands and her world is filled with care and love x

From experience, enlarged lymph nides are rarely cancer and even if they are they can live a long time with it. Was she checked for bladder stones. Does she do a moaning sort of noise like an ooh when weeing.

BIG HUGS

I am so, so sorry about the devastating findings. It is always so tough when you get the kind of bad news that are the stuff of all our nightmares. Hopefully it is just a bad infection. :(

Please concentrate on Winnie and take it day by day. Cherish every minute with her. Try not to think about the tomorrow; just on the now. It will either or work out or not; but that is largely out of your hands so do you what you have to do and make sure that she is well in herself as she as can be. You don't win battles by focusing on the horizon but just on your next step. That way you can cope with it all much better. :tu:
Make sure that do Mindfulness/meditation exercises for yourself. It is important that you balance yourself and look after yourself, too.

We are here for moral support whenever you need it.

Oh I’m so sorry to read this. I hope that the prognosis is better than you fear - the not knowing can be torture. Big hugs to you & Winny x

No .. no noises or moaning at all ... my other piggy had bladder issues and she would make a noise everytime..

Thanks everyone... its nice knowing you all understand and are here xx

No news yet from the vet (think it will be Tuesday) Winny isn't doing too great :( totally gone off her food - having very very small bites when i offer her something - its like its a real effort for her to eat :( I have started syringe feeding her with cc and water... She is so lifeless bless her :( makes me so sad to see....

I am so sorry to hear this. I have my fingers crossed you get better news when the results come in and it's something treatable. Sending love and best wishes to both of you.

Oh poor Winny. Is it worth calling the vets to discuss her condition with them and prompt them to chase up her results?

i have sent them a message on their pets app - but no reply so will call first thing in the morning. I've settled her in for the night away from the other two - purely because she can't hardly walk and they keep bothering her thinking she has treats as I keep checking on her....

Sadly Winny passed away in her sleep in the early hours of this morning .... ❤

I’m so sorry Winnie slipped away in the night, sending big hugs to you. Winnie was surrounded by love and she will have know just how much you cared, x
Sleep tight little lady 🌈

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sleep tight Winnie x

Sorry for your loss 😔 You tried everything for Winny, and things must have been serious with her health. Popcorn pain-free over the bridge Winny 🌈
