My eldest male guineapig is pooping very deformed . He is eating what he eats . And as far as I know when they have diarrhoea I have to cut veggiesfrom their diet. But mine doesn't eat veggies or doesn't even eat grass. My other piggies eat grass. He also drinks water occasionally. His food habit is like that since I've brought him home. Now what can I do to harden his poop ? Last 2 times I hold him there was poop in his butt and one time a hard poop with the unshaped one . I've made a vet appointment but it's this Saturday so it's long time. I wanna know if something could be done at house .

Hi guys . Thanks for the kind words. He is doing well. He doesn't eat hay and he is 14 months old . From the time when I got him he just eats carrots and water spinach. I tried giving him veggies and pellets he doesn't eat . I tried several times keeping a gap . And he is eating as he always eats but I he isn't gaining weight . He is thin when I pick him up my finger can trace his bones. In my place one vet can treat guineapig but he isn't taking appointments due to his illness. And I don't want to risk their lives taking to other vets who don't know about guineapigs. I am pretty helpless at this point. And I can do nothing without watching where the situation goes.He is doing his regular activities like he used to do .but i know that guineapigs hide their illness. Please pray for him .

If he is only eating carrots and water spinach and absolutely no hay or grass, then this is why he has poop problems and no weight gain. Guinea pigs need hay and grass as their main food source - it provides the high fibre diet they need to promote good gut function and health and dental wear.
Carrots are far too high in sugar and cause an overgrowth of the wrong type of bacteria which will lead to gut problems.
