i picked up my female guinea pig and noticed she has a poop pellet stuck in her vagina. She and her sister are my first guinea pigs, so I'm not very well knowledged in guinea pigs. Does this hurt her? Should I take her to a vet?

my family is looking up nearby vets. We're very low on money and can barely afford food for everyone, so if we have to take her to a vet we'll be in serious financial trouble.

I'm sorry but it sounds like a vet visit is neccessary in this case and I would not advise you trying to remove it or self medicate it. Is it possible to post an image?

Normally you can just wash their areas if they become dirty.

But as you mention redness and swelling then it sounds more serious and would need a vet visit unfortunately.

Depending on where you live you could possibly use a PDSA service in the UK, or a credit system in the US.

Good luck!
