Our Hamish has been a little under the weather. We just couldn’t put our finger on what was going on.
We have been to the vets.
He is swollen where the cecotropes are made. ( It made him look like a little like he had swollen testicles.)
He now has gabapentin, as well as the metacam(he was already on) to take, and we are going to up his fibreplex intake. We were recommended to try poo soup too.

I have found the guide for making poo soup, but how much water should we be using in the syringe?
Does anyone know how often a day we can syringe poo soup?
The vets recommend fibreplex 3x a day and to try and give Hamish poo soup as well.

Hi

You can give poo soup 2-3 times daily; about 1-3 small syringefuls each time (as much as he will take; it depends on the concentration of the poos in the water so there is no fixed amount).

Here is the relevant link for those who want to look it up: Probiotics & Live Gut Microbiome Transfer ('Poo Soup'); Recovery Formula Foods And Vitamin C: Overview With Product Links and Transfer Recipe

We also have a new, very practical guide to emergency improvising feeding, which also contains a 'recipe' for poo soup.

All the best.
