So I'm loving fleece.
But what technique / equipment does everyone use for poo picking from both fleece and grass please?

I just use my bare hands ;) I have a thick stick which I use to scrape the poos to a pile, and then just pick the pile off with my hands. I tried a small vacuum cleaner, but my pigs were terrified of it!

With my fleece loft (which is barely used) I put on some rubber gloves and just pick up the poops and put them in a bag.

Bare hands or roll up sections of the fleece and shake it out. Not done grass as they are indoor guinea pigs.

Bare hands here too!

I use a combination of a hand held vac and my bare hands for cleaning poo from the liners.

They are heavier than just fleece so the cleaner doesn't pick them up aswell.

bare hands when necessary... but for cleaning up the cage I wait for the afternoon when I set down my piggies on the floor for their floor time, then I roll up the fleece and I shake poo, old hay and other leftovers off.
And... :shh: I use that poo as a fertilizer for my plants outside the balcony! :lol!::lol!:

I put on pair of rubber gloves and do the poo patrol on the grass by just picking it up. If done regularly it doesn't take long. Then I use it to fertilise my rhubarb! Which btw the piggies have no access to.

I used to use a hand held hoover, but didn't like it so I just use a good old dustpan and brush, oh and my hands!

I use a long handled and normal dustpan and brush as my 4 create too many poops for my small hands!

As for grass I just leave it there to fertilise the grass! I just move the run every now and then :)

I too use a small dustpan and brush, it's only 3", just right for sweeping corners. I leave the grass and move the run. The lawn mower picks most poop up.

Thanks for everyone's replies.
I have a 4 year old so don't want to leave it in the garden

I use rubber gloves too! :D

I get me it easier to pick it up with bare hands but part of me (the mother if a 4yr ld) screams that I shouldn't!

And basically if you handle your pigs, you are going to be exposed to the same bacteria anyway. Think of their bums, their lips after they have eaten some poo, and their paws after they have stepped on some poo. It's perfectly safe to pick poo by hand if you just wash your hands after picking I think :)

I use a cat poo scoop to scoop the poo and hay in to a pile and scoop it in to a pan and my hands to pick up stray poos the scoop wont pick up in the corners. Fragrant free baby wipes to wipe around the cage walls and hidey's if they get grubby.

I just pick them up.......and so do the kids. We wash our hands especially if we are going to eat........but to be honest they are not going to hurt, guinea pig poo isn't toxic like dog poo for example.
I sometimes use the hand held Dyson but then my husband moans it smells of piggy poo!

I have a hand held Dyson that's specifically for the pigs! I clean the nozzle, filter and canister weekly with distinfectant and boiling water so It doesn't get smelly! The nozzle is angled at the end which I use on the vet bed but if I'm running it over pads or fleece, I twist the nozzle to face up the way.. means the tip picks up poos without suckling up any fleece or pads! I honestly don't know I coped before my Dyson but I know that I did.. somehow! Haha

Try to use a cat litter scoop and a dust pan it works quite well:D

Bare hands for the fleece liners, very quick and easy. Rake it into piles with fingers then into a doggy poo bag  it sounds gross but it's how I've always done it, doesn't bother me in the slightest. Quick hand-wash after

I use to use my hands, but mainly use a handheld vacuum now. They were scared of it of first. Now I always use the poo machine (That's what I tell the piggies it is) just before they get their veg. Luna still runs away from it, but Ginny gets all excited and follows it round.
