Good afternoon...
my poor Oreo has been diagnosed with pneumonia this afternoon and has received Baytril and Doxytrine. (I’m not sure that’s how you spell it!) as well as a nebulizer medication.
After his first doses, he’s pretty sleepy. He’ll get up to nibble on some hay, drink water and go back to bed.
Is this actions just because of the hard morning we’ve had? Or he’s just not feeling good. Since he’s still eating, and gaining weight I’m not too worried about his food intake, but I’ll keep monitoring that of course.
I just hate to see my baby all tired sleepy and not feeling well.

Sorry to hear this. Please speak to the vet about the use of a diuretic such as furosemide this can help ease fluid from the lungs. Sending healing vibes

As well as Furosemide as mentioned by sport_billy which is as known as Frusol you can also give dandelions if he is eating OK which are a natural diuretic x

After three days on his treatments, I can honestly say he seems to be doing so much better ! Still hates taking the yucky stuff, but he’s been running around, popcorned once. And even squeaked a few times in his cage. Honestly say I haven’t seen him react this way in quite a long time.
I suppose these meds are working, and he’s doing well! Fingers crossed he continues to improve, and his labored breathing slows down a bit.
