my guinea pig is making these weird deep noises it kind of sounds like she's struggling to breathe i have it on video but i don't know how to add a vid here so if anybody knows what it could be or what to do i can add u on snap r whatever and send a vid of the noises she's making. i also read that it could be respiratory problems or something and I'm rlly worried for my baby she's only 7 months old

Please urgently see a vet today for any respiratory issues.

Switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh her daily each morning and step in with syringe feeding. Hay intake is 75-80% of their daily food intake and an unwell piggy often reduces their hay intake (the need to breathe comes before the need to eat so is she is struggling to breathe she may stop eating enough). This means they quickly lose weight and you must step in with syringe feeding.

You cant upload a video directly to the forum. You will need to upload it to YouTube first and then post a link to it here. However, we are not vets and can’t tell you what is wrong with her through seeing a video. She needs a hands on examination by a qualified vet

Please read our guides below as they will also help in information on how you can help her while you wait to see a vet.
