I think we might lose poor old Jezzy floof... she was fine yesterday, but this morning wouldnt come out for breakfast... she is trying to eat but can't manage more than a very slow nibble then gives up :(
She's taken 5mls of syringe feed and nibbled at a cucumber slice but couldnt manage a bit of carrot, we have vets 10am tomorrow and she doesnt seem in pain just... very very sleepy and a bit off balance... I wonder if she had a stroke? Its like she wants to eat but can't quite get her face to work properly and then its all too much effort and she just wobbles back under the fleece and closes her eyes... I have her all comfy in a box so I can try syringe feed and offer tempting veg every 2 hours but... I think its up to Jezzy now if she wants to keep going, she is old with liver failure and has been palliative care for 4 months now...
Please send kind thoughts and prayers for my beautiful old floof!
 
Poor Jezzy floof. Can you get any grass at all? I know its difficult this time of year but when Meg was bad a couple of years ago she refused to eat hay and would only eat grass. If Jezzy decides it's her time for the Rainbow Bridge she will know that for the last few years she has had a wonderful life with you and that you and Piggy Daddy have loved her and you gave her a chance to learn how to be a guinea pig and how they should be looked after.
 
Aw poor Jezzy :( I’m afraid I don’t have any advise but I am sending lots of healing vibes. If it is her time to go to the rainbow bridge, she has had a wonderful long life with you and piggy daddy x

Thank you everyone, she is just sleeping now and I will wake her every 2 hours for a syringe feed and offer some bite size tempting veg but... I think now she will either perk up later and wonder what all the fuss was about, or more likely she won't :(
The vet said in September there was nothing they could do about her liver problems so I'm just going to let her sleep in a fleecy tube in a box of hay and see what happens, then maybe pop her back with her friends overnight and see if she is still with us tomorrow morning to see the vet.
If she is going to leave us I hope it just happens naturally while she is asleep, I dont feel ready to cope with taking that decision for her...

I don't think anyone of us can cope with that...... If you have to you will find the strength from somewhere and we are here for you too.

It sounds like her liver could be packing in. I am ever so sorry. All you can do is hang in there and see how it goes right now.

Jezzy just took 9mls syringe feed, 2mls water, 2 spinach leaves chopped into strips, and is very slowly nibbling some hay.
She still won't get out of her tunnel and is very quiet and still but she has decided she isnt going to the rainbow bridge without a day of good dinners in bed first and lots of recovery food in her chin fur!

I’m so sorry Jezzy Floof isn’t feeling well. I hope she’s just having an off day but with her liver problems the bridge may be calling. If you have to make the decision for her you will find the strength within you to help her over. She sounds nice and relaxed. Warm and snug. Getting lots of TLC. Take care. ❤️
 
Managed another 10mls syringe feed and 3mls water and came out of her tunnel with her big cheeky floof face but... then she sort of tipped over :(
I am thinking a stroke maybe, she has a head tilt and her left eye is a bit squinty and her left front paw isn't quite doing what she wants it to...
 
Thank you, think we just have to take it one syringe feed at a time, when piggy daddy gets home I might pop her back with her friends for an hour and see how she is, if it cheers her up any or if its a bit too much for her...
