Try a vinegary wash.

Guinea pigs will always gnaw and nibble, though.

Although it sounds silly the best ‘stuff’ is just to ignore them so they don’t get into the habbit, if you know they’re doing it because they want their hay rack filled or nugget bowl filled, only fill it when they aren’t chewing. My pigs are terrible at chewing when they want things.

Other than that just put more chewable stuff in and around their cage.

Yeah I know but its so annoying to spoil them and then for them to spoil the object I have given them.

Put in some stuff they can wreck to their heart's content like hay or veg filled paper bags, kitchen paper or toilet roll tubes or any cardboard houses etc. Guinea pigs have quite a destructive streak, unfortunately!

I hate to break it to you but thats part of being a guinea pig, if we don’t buy them things to chew, then you end up paying hundreds for dental bills. If you think piggies are bad for chewing you should try having a rabbit, things that last days for piggies last seconds with rabbits ! :)

Just enjoy spoiling them, and find what they enjoy the most, or try making your own toys too ! It doesn’t have to cost alot to keep them chewing.

try things to hang off the bars that look more interesting to chew! zooplus do brilliant prices for pet things, i've just bought mine some gnaw toys :) they love them and i saved a good amount of money on them.
