Pumpkin is a 3.5 year male pig. November he was making a honky rhythm noise when breathing and had something tiny up his nose. Vet removed it and he was fine. 2 weeks ago he started making the same noise when breathing. This noise can come on at various times of the day.sometimes once a day, sometimes a few times. He is eating, drinking and still as sassy as ever.his brother is absolutely fine
We took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and he had a check over. Heart fine, and lungs as normal completely clear.no nose or eye discharge. Vet gave antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds as a precaution. After his first dose,he did a big wet sneeze...since then ,no sneezing and no other signs of a cold or uri. This cost 88 pounds. We have now finished the course and he is still making this noise. He has a massive indoor hutch, which is cleaned daily.he has the pellets that soak up wee, daily hay,and a good diet. They have a play pen and tunnels, and a covered outdoors play area when it's warmer. I just dont know what to do. Please help

Is the air too dry with central heating on?
You could try placing a bowl of steaming water next to his cage to see if that humidify the air and bring him some relief.
Have you checked the hay isn’t too dusty?
Perhaps changing his bedding to fleece as they are indoors might be an option to avoid bedding dust?
Otherwise he will need to return to the vet to be checked again in case there is something in his nose again.

Do note that piggies do not get viral colds.

I have one who makes a similar noise. I am currently nebulising her twice a day on vet advice. It's a bit early to say if it's making a difference as we have to do 4 weeks of it, but I am hopeful.

I shall order fleece bedding this afternoon for him,our house is warm,so will try the bowl method.

Can I buy a nebuliser or do I need one from a vet ?

I'm just anxious every time he makes the noise. He's absolutely fine in himself in every other way

Don’t nebulise unless you know what is actually wrong.
See how you go with a bowl of steaming water and see if it makes a difference to him.
