Hi I have just got two little girl piggies. I have had two boars who lived to the age of eight so have experience of older piggies but cannot remember much about the baby stage.
My two girls are 8 weeks old, one of them lets me fuss her in the cage but as soon as I gently pick her up and put her on me she bites, it is sometimes hard enough to draw blood. Do you think this is something she will grow out of as I bought her for my 12 year old daughter to handle as she is nervous of all animals so I thought helping to look after the piggies from babies would help.

Firstly, yes, she will likely grow out of this but there are ways to help. For example pick her up in a towel, so she feels secure and cant bite.

Please be aware it can take months for piggies to become tame. It takes patience and hard work.

Also try not to tickle the piggies backs ,it seem to trigger thm to nibble. Just tickle behind the ears.

And just to add, just check skin and fur are OK as sometimes irritations of the skin can cause biting, ie mites, lice etc.
