We will immediately call the vet tomorrow morning (its closed now) what do you guys think it is? I first didn't see anything wrong until I put her back in her case after giving her some cuddles. She was squeeking from pain, then I picked her up again, and saw the infection.. There was also a bit of blood loss.. Is anyone familiar with this? It's a she btw. Her clitoris or vagina seems to be infected :'(

Hi

This is a badly swollen penis sac, either from a semen rod or a bad build up of hardened smegma, both of which can cause an infection if left for too long.

Please see a vet promptly as the discomfort must considerable. This is about every bit as bad as it can get.

I’m no vet. That looks extremely uncomfortable and could be a stone wedged in her urethra. Please find an emergency vet as that needs immediate attention.

In the U.K. all vets have to provide out of hours cover either themselves or via an out of hours service at an emergency vets. Please see if you can find an out of hours vet.

It's a female..

Thank you. Because of the swelling this was not obvious when looking at the picture.

In this case you need to see a vet as soon as possible for a large urethral stone that could block the urine flow, which could be fatal once the urine backs up into the kidneys.

My Teggy had this in October 2020 and needed an emergency op; how her stone had worked its way down the urethra considering its size is sill a mystery to us but she is stil around and now an old lady at 6 years of age.

Please contact an out-of-hours vet if your girl looks suddenly very ill and off as a life and death emergency before you can have her seen as emergency tomorrow.

All the best!

Thank you. I called the emergency vet, they asked whether she still ate, which she did. Then she said that we could bring her tomorrow, but that I need to put her in a warm tub with bodylotion. I did, and the stone fell out! I'm so glad. She is now drying up, and is eating a piece of apple

The doctor said that since she still ate we had to visit tomorrow morning and that we didn't have to go for an emergencyv visit. But did told me that I should put her in a tub with warm water and a bit bodylotion. Well probably because of the soaking, a kidney stone fell out! It was 1cm!😥 It now looks a lot better thankfully..

That looks painful! Hopefully she is feeling mighty better now. Are you still going to have her seen tomorrow?

Oh my goodness. I’m so pleased that came out on its own. Poor girly. Bet that was agony. She must be feeling so much better. I’d still get her seen tomorrow just to be on the safe side. That’s a massive stone.

Yeah I was thinking of doing that. Do you think that it's possible there could be more kidney stones?

Wow - I mean WOW - she's a trooper! What a brave girl, I bet she feels better now (if slightly stunned!)

That boulder will have formed in her bladder or urethra rather than her kidney because the tubes that run from kidney to bladder are tiny. There might be other stones but there's a decent chance that this was going to be the problem one and anything else would just be a bit of sludge that can be passed. It's important to get a vet check though to make sure she is intact down below. Perhaps try to check where she has peed to see if there are traces of blood or grit, that will be helpful to your vet. Well done little girl 💕

Goodness me.
Your poor girl.
You must have been so worried.
I’m glad you were able to do something to help her but a vet check tomorrow will give any medication if needed and see if there’s anything else there.
Having had kidney stones myself I know how excruciating they can be.

Oh your poor girl. She will feel much better for having that out. I would definitely have her examined by the vet tomorrow as there may be more stones or sludge in the bladder.

No wonder she looked so blooming sore! I'm glad it came out by itself, I can't imagine having an equivalent-sized stone stuck in my urethra overnight... 😱🤢

Oh goodness, thank God it worked its way out! I would definitely get her seen as she will likely need some pain relief and perhaps some antibiotics for a few days to prevent infection.
