I believe she’s hooting I’m not sure I attached a video please let me know and what should I do and what does this mean. Thanks!

Wellcome to the forum!
The link to the video didn't work. You can't put a video directly on here, but have to upload it somewhere else (like YouTube) and put the link here.

But if you're in any doubt about the health of your piggy, please see a vet asap.

I just answered your other threat.
Since this is a UK based forum most of us live in a different time zone.
But as I posted in the other threat, please see a vet, if you're in any doubt.
Our health experts can give advice, but they can"t substitute a vet.

Please don't do multiple threats on the same subjects, because it makes it harder for the health experts to keep on top of all posts.

I’ve merged your threads.

Please see a vet for any health concerns. While hooting can be different to a chesty breathing, as we are not vets and cannot see your piggy, we cannot know what is causing the issue in your case.

Where there are health concerns it’s important to switch from the routine weekly weight checks and I stress weigh your piggy daily. This enables you to monitor hay intake more closely and step in with syringe feeding.

I hope your piggy is ok

Good luck at the vets. I hope it’s something easily treatable.

Hi and welcome

Hooting is in most cases caused by a minor obstruction in the nose (like from a bit of hay dust) and should disappear again on its own or after a good old sneeze within a few hours. Guinea pig airways are very small. Since cavies are also not much in the way of mouth breathers, even the smallest obstruction in the nose can cause rather alarming sound effects.

As long as they are just a short-lived one-off and do not come with other symptoms, you need not worry.
However, if the hooting persists/is regular or you notice other respiratory symptoms in the coming days, then please see a vet for a check.
