Hi Everyone

I'm wanting to order some sort of soft bed for my boys in the next week but I'm unsure what will be best?

My boys are still a little nervous (they've been home for 3 weeks now) and like to hide away quite a bit, although they're definately getting more confident.

Anyway, I'm unsure what to choose. In your experiences would we be better with:

A Piggy Bed like these:

If we went with these, I think we'd need to fashion a sort of canopy out of an old cloth or fleece over the top to make them a little more private for the boys.

OR

A Crash Pad like these:

OR

A Snuggle Sac like these:

What do you think? I think they're all so cute and look very cosy and I just can't decide!

Thanks for any input.

I have a crash pad and a piggy bed from Piggy Palace. The crash pad is a little small for my gp because he is quite big but he loves his piggy bed. Piggy Palace also sell Hidey Hammocks which I also have. My gp like to be in the dark too so I have the hammock tied above his piggy bed and the hidey hammock has a flap that comes down providing a bit of privacy/darkness. My gp used to love his igloo but he absolutely loves his piggy bed and barely gets out unless he is hungry lol. I bought him a dog bed today which is even bigger and he loves stretching out in this.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I may go for the beds, then I will make a canopy myself from a piece of fleece or even an old towel, I can peg it to the bars on the cage. I think I've seen this done on some photo's on here, maybe Weibke's? (Thanks for the idea!)

I'm going to send an email to see what fabrics are currently available.

Thank you!

I have the snuggle-oo and the snuggle-sac from cosy cavies and mine love it, when I put it out for them they start popcorning :(|)

I've seen those Snuggle-oo's, they look nice and cosy they do, I wish they did them human size lol.

Ohhh now the snuggle-ooo just adds another one into the mix doesn't it! Arghhh!! Why is there so much choice? How am I supposed to decide when they're all so bloomin well cute?! Well whatever I buy now, they'll get something different from Father Christmas so that means I can choose 2, one for now and one to ask him for in a few months. hmmmm........

hi, I'm Michael Everio. I have a piggy since 8th October 2000. I recently bought new bed for my piggy. My friends Chris Freville and Amber Sharman who have also piggies adviced me to buy a crash pad. I'm very happy with that. go for it.

I love the crash pads too - not got any of my own yet although I intend on stocking up at Christmas!

I just bought the middle bed from here, for Willa's birthday:

Welcome to the forum, Michael. Do you have the same piggy you had 9 years ago, or have you had a number of piggies since then? Good to hear your guinea enjoyed the crash pad.

I tried a bed similar to the first link but all they did was poop in it and within 2 hours I had to take it out for washing. I'm not sure how other people keep them clean and decent but I haven't found a way yet!

Unfortunately that is just what they do; they are little poop machines, they don't care where they poop!

I don't wash my pigs beds until they are actually ditry and mucky (i.e. not just peed and pooped on); usually a cuddlecup will last my pigs 2-3 days without being too mucky. By the third day it is past it and does need washing!
