I have 2 guinea pigs chewy and peanut peanut seems to have diarrhea but I looked it up and they are saying there is different kinds of poops and some you should worry about but I dont know which poop mine has. Hes eating and drink and acting normal I just recently changed there food I looked up what to do and it said to limit there diet to only Timothy hay or Timothy pellets so they have only been eating Timothy hay sense last night at around 7. Hes had diarrhea for about a week now but I didn't think it was serious I thought that it was just something that happens but apparently it can be serious and I feel bad because I feel like it's my fault. I don’t know what to do other than what I have been doing but I need help because I feel like I'm not doing enough. I thought that I should get that bene bac stuff but I dont have any money until I get paid and i don’t know if there was anything I could do until then or if I should get it I don’t know. I need help.

If it is proper runny diarrhoea then your piggy needs to be taken to a vet straight away. Diarrhoea is classed as an emergency.

if you piggy has formed, but soft poops, then you stop giving all veg and feed only hay and pellets. After a couple of days the poops should normalise and you can slowly reintroduce veg. If they don’t normalise after a couple of days, then you must see a vet.
You can give a probiotic such as benebac. However, if your other piggy is healthy and not having digestive problems, then you can use very fresh poops from your healthy piggy soaked in water, and then syringe feed some of the water to your poorly piggy. The poops you use must have just been produced, they cannot have sat about for any length of time as the bacteria starts to die off immediately. That helps the gut bacteria of the poorly piggy.

Please switch from weekly weighing to daily weighing of your piggy. If he is losing weight then you must also step in and syringe feed him to prevent further weight loss.

None of these measures replace a vet visit though, if your piggy has had this issue for a week, then he really needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible.

I’ll add in guides below which contain more comprehensive information

Guinea pigs do produce two different types of poops, but this is not the same thing as having diarrhoea.
The other type of poop is caecotrophs which guinea pigs take directly from their bottoms and eat (youre unlikely to see this type of food at all as piggies eat then straight away). They do this so they get the maximum nutrition from their food, the caecotrophs get eaten so they can extract more nutrients during its second run through the gut.
