Hi,I ordered a 5 x 2 c&c cage but I'm having problems with the order so I was wondering if a playpen is a suitable permanent cage? I already have one and it's 3ft x 3ft I think it's too small but I would like other people's opinions please.
 
:D A 3ft X 3ft pen does not sound too small for two female piggies. You do not say how many pigs you've got and whether male or female. Don't put too much furniture in it. Make sure they have a lot of space to run about. You would need a lot more space than that for two males. What sort of problems are you having with your C and C cage order? Where have you ordered it from?
 
Sorry I forgot to mention Yes two female guinea pigs. I have a 3 money card,I used this to pay and yesterday I got an email telling me I will have to pay an extra £10 for delivery to NI so I have to top up the card by a minimum of €20 to pay that and it will be a while to get it topped up again. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the website here? If you want I can pm you the website.
 
:D Was it "C and C Guinea Pig Cages.co.uk" where you ordered it? I don't know what their delivery is like to Ireland.
 
Yes that's the place. I was planning to get it delivered to a place in NI and collecting it from there. I hate to see animals in small cages and I want sizes to be above the minimum. What do you think about the playpen?
 
A 3x3 would be fine for 2 girls, it provides a larger floor space than the minimum of 4x2. I actually quite like square cages as the space the provide is more open and you have more choice when it comes to adding enrichment :)
 
I am going to add my rabbits cage base(he's mostly free range) which is 36" x 20" to the playpen so it will provide even more space. Would foam jigsaw mats be a good flooring base with fleece on top for the playpen? I will get my rabbit a 4 x 4 playpen for a base maybe I can attach the two sides so it makes it even bigger. I will have to see of space allows this first.
