Plastic Pigloo

Hey guys

Just after a little bit of advise.
I recently brought a living world plastic hidey house for my piggies. I was against it at first because I thought they might chew the plastic but after seeing several of the most popular you tubers had them I decided I give one a try and guess what!?................................... One of my mischievous piggies has stated chewing it!

The thing is they love it and all hide and sleep in it all the time and they have loads of wooden things to chew in there cage so I can't understand why she has taken a shine to it!

Can the plastic cause any harm to her health if she keeps on chewing it? Should I discontinue use and replace with something wooden?

If they chew in moderation it's ok. Just keep an eye on it, if she makes big dents then I'd think about removing it :) I've used plastic igloos and they're well loved by the pigs and they're easy to wipe clean too

Thanks for the advise. I will keep an eye on it. I have just ordered a wooden house from Amazon so I will put that in the cage too and hopefully piggles (the naughty chewer) will start using that one instead :)

Yeah lots of people seem to use them without a problem. And it's funny because I have 3 piggies and the other 2 aren't bothered about chewing it at all and stick to the wooden chews. It's shame because I love it! It's easy to clean and big enough for all of the piggies to hide in together! Let's hope getting a second wooden house will solve the problem. :)
 
I've just bought two this morning after separating my boys, and they see, to love the, and haven't chewed..YET
 
One of my girls nibbles them (i have two). She normally only does it if I'm late with their daily floor time , so either shes gettin excited or shes telling me to move it! Shes only roughed the edges of the opening, not broken any bits. If she did id take them out. My girls love them x
 
Thanks for all the advice everyone! I will keep it in and keep my eye on it. :)
 
I do have a coupe of pigs that chew, I tend to give them the wooden things so they don't destroy as much! :P
 
One of my piggies is a plastic chewer. She doesn't do it too much though so I don't worry, I just often see her wrap her teeth around the entrance of the plastic igloo.

As people have said above, as long as she isn't taking massive chunks out she will be fine :)
