Hi :) I got Ariel and Aurora a couple of months ago and I couldn't be happier with them, they're lovely and getting more and more tame by the day. Their current cage is too small for them, so I'm upgrading to a C&C cage. I moved my room around yesterday and the day before so now they have lots of space for a great big palace. I measured and their future cage's potential dimensions are at least 5 x 3 feet (up to 6 x 5 feet), with a possible loft. I'd like to know some things about building C&C cages; I've found 30 grids on ebay, will this be enough for the size cage I'm thinking of making them? Also, flooring... I've read I need coroplast? I know these questions are easy ones to research but I'd really like your opinions, as I'd like to do this right the first time. Thank you :)

Hello. I recently built a 5 x 2 grid cage for my foster piggy who is very energetic and adores having space to tear around in! I got my whole kit(including the coroplast ready cut to size) from candccages.co.uk. Although I did have a loft on mine to start with, the ramp was quite steep and I was worried my little tearaway would jump off it, so I just made the cage bigger lengthwise instead. Once you get the knack of inserting the grids into the plastic connectors and tethering the tops with cableties it is not too difficult. Other folk on here may have suggestions for coroplast supplies. I use newspapers and fleece as a base layer on top of the coroplast for the cage and have lots of room for tunnels, toys and boxes, etc. I really recommend these cages as my Smartie loves it.( PS Anybody out there want to adopt Smartie from RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen, Colwyn Bay, North Wales (he is on my avatar) please get in touch as he ends his foster period with me in early May! He needs plenty of space and is a real "action man".) Good luck with your cage - trial and error worked well for my construction!:)

i have c&c cages and mine are on teh floor. Have a shower curtain then puppy pads then main fleece.Litter trays one end and extra towel and fleece the other. The smaller bits of fleece and towels get changed when wet and the main fleece once a week. 16 grids makes a 5x3 cage without a loft
