Eriathwen
Adult Guinea Pig
It's hard to believe it's been 6 years already, almost to the day in fact. 20th March 2019 if I remember correctly, we brought you home.
After the loss of Treacle, Ebony took being alone again very hard, but she was far too soft to be added to the big herd. So I went on a search to find some girls to be her friend. Huddled in the same local pet shop I got Misty, I found both you and your sister Bailey, you were both terrified bundles of hair, luckily with Ebony it was love at first sight!
Unfortunately with you, the feeling wasn't mutual and due to your fear aggression you needed to be split and put in with the big pigs! Under Shellys gentle but firm leadership you flourished into a very calm and gentle piggy, befriending all the old and infirm piggies that came our way over the years.
In spite of bladder stones, interstitial cystitis, possible ovarian cysts you plodded along.
Your hair never did decide which direction it wanted to grow in
brushing you was always an adventure! But you did eventually learn to tolerate it.
You were such a clever girl, having watched me teach Amber how to spin, in an attempt to stop her launching herself over the top of the cage to get her medications, you clearly realised performing a trick made the syringes of tasty meds come quicker, so you copied both her and Oliver, spinning away of your own accord, being far better at it than both of them put together too!
Your presence in the herd is already missed, in spite of how quiet you were.
You were absolutely fine when I put the light on this morning and not 15 minutes later, you had waddled off to see your old friends. Unfortunately I don't think it will be long before your sister joins you, try not to beat her up when you next see her, I'd like to think you've both outgrown that by now!
