My girl Mango (8 months) has just now started having pink urine. I had her out with me and for the first half an hour I didn't notice anything different about her urine, but then she started peeing every five minutes or so, and each time it would start out normal and then a bit of pink would come out at the end. It's not a bloody colour, but I've never seen it before and I didn't even see it the first couple times she peed tonight while she was out. Lately she seems to have been peeing more often, and she's been making a sort of stuttering high-pitched sound when she pees - it doesn't sound like she's in serious pain, and because she's an especially chatty pig anyway I initially just put it down to that because it seemed similar enough to her usual sounds. Her bum isn't wet or messy. I haven't changed anything about her food lately, and I don't think any of the veggies I feed her should be causing that pigmentation. She's perfectly active, enthusiastic about food and behaving just like her usual self. Any idea what might be causing this? I plan on taking her to the vet when they're open again on Monday, but in the meantime should I be separating her from her sister, and is there anything else I should be doing? Thanks!

Do have her seen by a vet for diagnosis. Guinea pigs hide their pain so it is important you get her seen as soon as you can. Please don’t separate her from her sister though, they need to remain together and there is no benefit in separating

Hi, check to see if there is any fruits or vegetables that could be staining the color, any new things you’ve tried giving her? It could also have something to do with any artificial coloring in your guinea pigs cage, I’m no vet so you should still take her to the vet

Agreed.
Any indication of slight discomfort when peeing could be a UTI or something else. I’ve had pigs whom eat with gusto and run around like mad but when peeing became a real battle ground for them.
Good luck
