I just noticed that my guinea pigs urine seems to be slightly pink. I changed her bedding this morning and it looks like shes gone quite a few times since then, but they seem to have a slight pink tint to them. Her stool is pretty soft as well. Its also almost tear drop shaped. Shes not acting any different really, shes been eating and drinking well. I recently got her some "trail mix" that has small red flowers, rose buds maybe? and she ate one of this yesterday afternoon. I don't know if that could be the cause? She is only about a year old and shes blind. Other than being blind, the last time she was at the vet they didn't find anything else wrong with her. I'm not sure if I should worry yet? Or if I should be rushing her off to the vet right now? Any help would be appreciated! I haven't had issues like this with any other pig.

@Jolene Tear drop shaped poops are a sign of a digestive issue. Something she has eaten has upset her stomach. It could possibly be the trail mix so I would stop feeding her that. Until they are back to normal it's best to limit food to hay and pellets. If she doesn't show any signs of getting better in a day or two she'll need a vet visit for gut medication that will help right her system.

Colour of urine only shows a sign of illness when it's completely dry. The pink can be a sign of the colouring of the mix. If it is blood then it will dry to a pink or red colour. Try to get her to pee on something white, like a towel then you will be able to see if there is a problem once it's dried. If you think there is an issue then she'll need a vet visit for antibiotics.

Hi I have merged your threads to the health and illness board.
I would be sitting with her on a white towel and observing her when she wee's. Not only looking for colour of urine but any signs of discomfort when she does so - hunching up or squeaking.
Sometimes food can quickly add colour to urine, I've noticed red chard is good at doing this and sent me into a panic, but we can't say for definite whether that's the cause or not.

Please check her weight. See a vet if your piggies loses more than 50g in a short space of time to check for urinary tract problems.

Tear shaped poos are a sign of a mild tummy upset; they can also be the result of not eating quite as much of one food group (often hay, which makes 80% of the daily food intake and which you cannot control) because of pain. But it is very much in the the very minor range of things.

It can be difficult to determine what is going on at this stage if the symptoms are still as minor as yours, as you are an extremely observant owner.
