I gave Rocky a hair cut after the bath. On Rocky's coccyx there was an area of sticky, gloopy stuff. I don't think it was as I put some in water to see how it dissolved. Rocky suffers a lot from lipomas - could one have burst? Or do guineas get pilonidal sinus or similar?

Any thoughts? Thanks.

hoping rocky feels better, i have never heard of this before, so will be watching this thread with interest. perhaps a vet visit would help? but like i said i have never heard of this before so sorry i can't help :'( :'( :'( sending hugs and healing vibes for rocky :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Its a grease spot
its a scent gland on boars one of mine has an active one something to do with breeding from them?
i dunno but gentle washing or if its big i trimm it off

This is a secretion from the caudal gland which boars use for scent marking,so yes,it is a sexual thing. Some boars secrete in exc ess .The secretion is often black and tarry, but can sometimes be a more creamy colour. It can be removed with warm olive oil normally, but if it is heavy,Swarfega may be needed.

Rocky is a girl.... sorry, I know I call them boys but they are girls. I know this is ridiculous, but it's just what they've always been called. Sorry for confusion....

You don't think it's from one of the other's? Why don't you put a call into Roger? he was always amazing on picking up on stuff...
Sending our darling little Rocky all our loves, wheeeeeeks, kisses and hugs :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

My last female Ginger had a a mark of thick dark muck which I would clean weekly. I used to cut some of her fur away from that area at times because I found that the fur sometimes got stuck to it.
