Has anyone experienced this? Miguel was having a little chomp last night and my OH was panicing. Solution is to wrap in fleece but just wondered if anyone else experienced this and if the pigs gave up in the end? They have plenty to chew in their home btw x

They are like toddlers. Doesn't matter how much they have they can chew on, they will always want what they can't have! Mine have eaten a fair amount and are fine but I do try and prevent them getting to it.

My correx is quite old now and has been chewed over the years, but I've not had a pig that has done it excessively.

I have seen people use spine binding clips along the edge of correx and I've seen other people that have tucked the fleece bedding over the sides of the correx and use used bulldog clips to keep it attached.

We found that one corner of the correx was getting chewed, and because we can't get correx over here I was worried in case they ate a big hole that I couldn't patch!
I just put a strip of black duct tape along the chewed edge, and they stopped chewing immediately - I guess duct tape isn't as fun to chew as correx.

My herd of 3 (Tizzie, Lottie and Harriet) are mega chewers, they chew both duct tape and the correx, they would chew their way out of the cage with some time! I've found spine binders to be extremely effective, they're designed to hold paper together but are made of hard plastic, just slot them over the edges of your correx and piggies should not chew anymore. These binders also look really nice, you can get different colours but I just got black, the same colour as my correx and it looks professional, like they were designed for C&C cages. They have been a life saver and are very cheap too. :) DSC06539.webp
