**caution - bittersweet thread that may be a bit tearful, but lovely**

Poor little Gus has been poorly for quite a while now. We have made the heartbreaking decision to have him pts today and end his suffering. Before he has to go and be with Walter and all of your precious rainbow piggies, we wanted to give him one absolutely perfect day where it was all about him. My fiancé and I took him to a beautiful valley to smell the grass, feel the sunshine and experience nature. It was a beautiful family day of celebrating his life. I'm so happy that we were able to give him such a wonderful day, and made some precious memories that will stay with me forever.
Here's the part where I get picture heavy...

My fiancé put together a beautiful collage of pictures into a video. Sadly I can't upload it here as it's a Facebook post. But it's on the Pigs in Blankets page for anyone who follows that or would like to see it :)

What a magical day for all of you.
What a wonderful gift for your beautiful Gus to be out in the sunshine and fresh air.

Aw I've been following this very moving story of gus (tearfully!) your love for this fellow shines through. It's an incredible tale of what is clearly a very special relationship.

Wishing you lots of strength and love today and in the weeks ahead. Thankyou for sharing these beautiful photos x

Thanks so much, I'm so sorry if I've caused you tears! I've tried to keep things as light as possible (especially on the PiB page) so it wouldn't be too difficult for anyone going through a similar time.
We've shared an unbelievable bond that I will always treasure. He's been a happy little guy and my best furry friend. He's helped me get through the most difficult of times and I'll always be grateful that I was his hooman. I've been so very lucky to have Gus, Walter and all my little furries and reptiles in my life :) x

Such a beautiful thing to do :luv:
I'm sorry you had to make that decision, sending you hugs x

What a beautiful little valley! I'll bet that's what piggie Heaven looks like! Beautiful photos of a gorgeous little guy, soon to be with his best friend again on the Rainbow Bridge.
All our hearts go out to you both at this very sad time.

That's exactly what I said too! :) he'll be in the giant field over the bridge with his best friend and all the lovely piggies that are there too. Thanks so much x

So sorry you came to this decision but Gus know he's so so adored by you and your partner. You know him, and you know this is the kindest thing you can do for him now, but that doesn't make it easier. Always here if you need a chat, also on Facebook is you need someone to talk to xx

Such a special memory to be able to have in such a beautiful place.

He certainly was a very special piggy who will live on in your hearts just like Walter.

Hugs to you all xx

What a beautiful idea and a fitting fitting to your wonderful handsome Gus, such a special little piggy, I have always enjoyed his photo threads here.

I am so sorry, huge hugs x

Such a lovely idea, I'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed it and it made him feel very relaxed.
I shall certainly try and remember this should I ever be in this situation, it's a great idea however bittersweet if you have the means to do so, those last days don't have to be holed up at home, why not take your piggy out to enjoy some nature if they're up to it, very thoughtful, big hugs to you xx
