I know pigs like somewhere to hide, but are pigloo's the only option? I'm thinking of switching George's pigloo for a cavy cozy tunnel, but is this ok?

William doesn't have a pigloo - he has a wooden flexi tunnel, a tube, his bed and some other places he can run and hide to.

As long as they have somewhere, where they are able to be quiet and on their own I'm sure it's fine.

My pigs prefer the fleece throw draped over the side of the cage. They have other pigloos/hideys, but they both prefer to hang out in the fleece "tent".

So I don't think you necessarily need a plastic pigloo. :)

My lot have similar wooden table type things to these steps...

This is Pippa squished under one (the other side is wider) but they like to sleep ontop of them too.

I often drape fleece or vet bed over them to make them a bit more cosy and darker too.

They used to have a couple of wooden hidey houses which they seemed to love but they eventually got wrecked with pee

I have wooden houses in each of the cages. I also have a towel tent in one cage, a tube in another. Also, in the boars cage, I have a curtain thing draped over the second level that they love to hide behind :)

Yes I have these wooden tunnels too, they're mighty expensive though! :(
Two cages of mine have them, it's gonna cost alot to get them for the others as well, which is a shame because the ones who have them love them and never come out unless I make them lol

Hi, thanks very much for the offer but George already had one but climbed on top of it and tended to fall off a lot! I didn't want him hurting himself, so I had to take it out and put his piggiloo in instead, but thanks so much for the offer :)

What about little toilet step's they are around £1-£2 in load's of colour's they can hide under or sit on top and you could put a fleece over it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toilet-Traini...pt=UK_Baby_Potty_Training&hash=item2c5cdaf52f

I'm not suggesting you buy a used one from ebay lol but they can be got from bargin shop's or some pound shop's

4piggiepigs, you have an extremely creative mind! Love that idea! I can make a fleece curtain for it and George won't get stuck in that, will he? They come in loads of nice bright colours too. Thanks 4piggiepigs!

I have igloos and my home made fabric tunnels as hides about the hutch plus a shoebox with one side cut out down the bottom, I think I might get one of them stools as they like to jump ontop the shoebox and its not very sturdy, just about holds up to two of them on it rolleyes and I can put some fleece strips on the side to give it some fun element and hide potential.

My girls have 2 stools with some fleece over it and they love sitting under and on top of them. They do tend to pull the fleece off, to snuggle into though :)

Claremw92, you obviously have a toddler in the house, judging by the artwork behind the piggies' cage...
My son also loves to write on everything BUT paper...rolleyes

My pigs have a pigloo and a cardboard box in their cage, by the way... they prefer the cardbaord box

I am looking for a Pigloo for Sweet Pea. I saw one only once and now I cannot find it. It was like a ball with an opening in it and it was fleece inside and probably cotton strips on the outside.
Anyone seen it?

I have a sturdy wooden lodge that I prefer now . I also have a large sized pigloo but Rumple being a large Swiss boar always seems to knock it over from the inside and I was forever fixing it . He also is a piggie that enjoys nibbling on wood and has already started biting his lodge ! His brother Jasper just has to put up with Rumple's home improvement plans rolleyes

I have the stools from £ shop and pigloos etc.. but they love card board boxes with two entrances and brown sandwich bags from home bargains, amazon packaging as tunnels. they love moving them about, bursting through them, lying in them, nibbling them... they also have fleece draped here and there in corners with clips, bundled in corners, again they move them and mess about with them...

I have pigloos, fleece tunnels, fleece over cage fringed and fiddlesticks with home made fleece tunnels over them. One of the pigloos gets tipped and pead in lately. They all uae different things

I haven't got on with the fleecy tunnels, beds or cosy cups they just don't seem to like them, however I love the cosy pouch which I use when I pick them up and sit them on my lap. Mine love the rabbit cottage, an upturned washing up bowl with a hole cut in with a wooden roof on top and right now they love the seagrass large 3 door house that is in pets at home at £13. I put a puppy pad in the bottom so they can't wee directly on it, bedding and then hay, they absolutely love it! Oh and of course the green extendable tunnels

I use the boxes that photocopying paper comes from (I'm allowed to bring them home from the office!) and cut two exit holes in them then fill with hay - mine have always preferred them to the "official" pigloo that I was given (which is very pretty and sparkly pink) x
