Hi, I noticed my girl who is estimated to be just over 3 (however was adopted so could be more) is getting poop smeared on her genitals. She also has CBS but has no visible issues from that yet so i dont know if its related.

I noticed during her groom yesterday a smell and then wiped it up for her, checked again last night and she was still fine, then this morning she had some smeared again. Her actual poops are the same as ever, no diarrhea. They are on the soft side but thats her usual. She has had no antibiotics, illness or stress lately. I have added probiotic to one of her waters hopefully she drinks some, i have a more palatable one coming in the post i can try next week, and I will be cutting down on her watery veg.

She is longhaired but i keep her trimmed and she is not overweight. She has not lost any weight. If the probiotics dont work I will of course bring her to the vet, I just dont see what else he could do for this issue really..

Has anyone dealt with a piggie like this before? I'm happy to keep her clean but just dont know why this is happening

I would offer the probiotics in a syringe or bowl rather than in her water. She’s not likely to take much on with drinking the water.

If her poop is soft then she needs to be taken off veg until at least 24 hours after they’ve gone back to normal. You say soft poo is her norm though. Has it always been like that?
