Piggy spy cam

Hope your piggy is ok.

We have a piggy cam and it's probably one of the best things I've ever bought. We often spy on the boys tearing around their cage like hooligans.

Although I have a bad habit of worrying about things like leaving my straighteners on, shutting the fridge door etc. So now I frequently fire up the camera to make sure I actually shut the cage / shut the bedroom door when they're in their play pen. 🤦

Glad you've got some peace of mind :)

Mine will record so I have a few amusing videos of them both doing laps in sync with each other and also Dash chirping. Contemplating getting one to spy on the cat but I suspect he'll just sleep a lot.

I can record/take photos on mine too. I can also talk to them but I don't want terrify them with my disembodied voice!

When I can't get to sleep, I switch on the piggy-cam app on my mobile. I often lie there just watching one or the other piggy napping, and exclaim when they shut their eyes. Spectator sport or wot. It is very relaxing ...

I hope your cam continues to give you peace of mind and piggy is ok.

We caught footage of Ophelia chirping! We'd never have known otherwise.

Out of interest are piggies very active during the night? I often think that when we go to bed they rub their paws with glee and think "party time" 😆

We were really curious to see what they got up to at night and that was a big part of the reason for getting a cam (as well as to keep an eye on the temp. etc.) We were amazed at how little they do nap and (this is how interesting my life is), I often scroll back through the footage to see just how long they stay napping. It often doesn't seem to be for more than 10 minutes, so when they are both curled up sleeping, it is a treat! For the most part, they are up and down the mezzanines for meadow hay, up at the hayrack for the timothy hay, generally shuffling around, washing themselves, rumblestrutting, hogging the cuddle-cup ... The excitement! There isn't a cam in the hay-filled sleeping area, though (they are in a hutch).

I suspected as much with my 2, but it's nice to have confirmation from someone else! I love the idea of a piggy cam, what type is it?

It's actually Ring, so quite a posh one, but that seemed to be the smallest and it needed to be attached to the ceiling of their hutch. (They are both wired cams, the battery one was too big [and expensive]). My daughters bought one each with their Christmas money so the other is attached to a beam in the 'shed' where they live. I've only paid the subscription for having video footage for the hutch one as they spend most of their time there and are shut up at night. We just get the live stream with the other. The cams have really been worth it, in terms of curiosity, enjoyment and monitoring. I'll look out a screenshot so you can see the quality.
