SkinnyPigRiver
Junior Guinea Pig
During today's spot-scooping I noticed the girls were using a corner of the cage for a potty that they hadn't previously, so I placed a fresh 1' square in the corner. First, River inspects, sniffs, sits, and bounds off having produced a single poop.
Melody, who's been observing from the tunnel, hops up and sniffs River's leaving. She then does the big "turn and squat" they seem to do when it's poop time. She leaves... another single poop cozy next to River's deposit. She also got annoyed when she noticed the camera...
It would make perfect sense to me if the submissive pig were copying the dominant pig in a sort of adoring, little-sibling way, but I'm constantly worried I'm personifying my pets. Is this a thing guinea pigs actually do? Copy what another does?
