My guinea pig doesn't wanna drink her water she runs around, eats food and is hyper active but I don't know/think she's drinking water I tried rubbing some cilantro on her bottle so it'll smell like it and so she'll try to drink but she won't budge I'm worried for her health and I don't know what to do, what can I do to help her drink?

The amount piggies drink is very individual - some will drink a lot, others not so much. They will also get a lot of fluid from their veg and this can also influence the amount they do or don’t drink from a bottle.
I assume you’re referring to your baby piggy, if so, then she will also learn what to do from your older piggy but as I say, she may never appear to drink much but will still be getting enough.

As long as you are seeing wet patches in the cage and she is otherwise healthy, then she will be drinking enough. Piggies won’t deliberately not drink - the need to drink comes before the need to eat

All About Drinking And Bottles

When my piggy’s were young, I often worried about this as I never saw them drink anything and their water never seemed to go down. They also hated the bowl of water I tried them with. However prior to taking them home, I had seen them drink from a bottle so I knew they could if they wanted it.

Lots of vegetables have a high water content such as cucumber so a few slices of this would help. I would also rinse lettuce in water and this will increase the water intake.

My instinct is they will drink more water if and when they need it, especially with all the running about. If you have a small 1ml syringe, offering a few drops won’t harm but make sure it’s only a few drops slowly. If after that your still worried, a trip to the vets may be needed 🙂.

Also if your seeing wet patches when cleaning their cage, they must be having something.
