I love these and they ship to the uk!

Expensive but worth it in the long run :)

They have three layers

Top layer is fleece
Middle layer absorbs the urine
Bottom layer is waterproof and protects the cage
No need for newspaper!
Easy!

I'm waiting to find out about shipping costs so will let you know!

Good link Lias but very expensive. I also dont have the waterproof layer on show, its contained with the fleecing under layers.

I make these here anyway for my business, but its good to see what others are doing too.

Hmmmm. We've been making Piggy Bedding for a fair few years now, along the same principles, but not that flippin expensive! I also find it interesting that that website was only created in October last year. Hey ho! I guess we at Hammocky HQ will either have to pass it off as a coincidence or take it as a great big compliment!

One of our first trial runs of bedding incorporated a waterproof backing but although it seemed like a good idea, I was never happy with it for a couple of reasons. Firstly I found that it actually created more problems than it solved in that it meant that the urine in heavy traffic areas just sat against the pigs skin as it had nowhere to go, and this meant far more regular washing and sadly the waterproof backing degraded very quickly rendering the bedding all but useless.

Secondly I would strongly advise against using this in the cage or in an unsupervised area as if the piggies manage to get at the waterproof backing, and they almost certainly will, they could develop serious if not fatal digestive issues :(

For some better information on how this type of bedding should work and how it is produced, and more importantly what the Piggies think of it have a look here.

The Hammocky Hammock Complete Piggy Bedding set comes complete with a Giant WashBag and spare 'high traffic' mats if needed so it really is an all in one solution, and as I say, one we've been selling to custom order for a few years now.

This bedding was originally developed and tested by us at Hammocky HQ, and by the Rescues who we work with and help to support. You can be assured that this bedding is safe and that all the money raised by the sale of it goes to great causes around the UK :)

Our Bedding is made from 4 individual layers which are carefully sewn together to create a unique wicking system, similar to how Vet Bed works but a lot less fluffy for those Piggies that like to nibble. It also utilises our unique Nibble Detection System, so you get early warning of any naughty nibbling! That said my crew have had the same two sets on the go for years and never nibbled them <touches wood>

We have only ever made our Piggy Bedding to order, although it has been widely advertised across forums blogs and of course our website :) It would be tricky for us to offer all sizes 'off the shelf' as it were, however we have been working on a modular system, which will be available soon.

If you would like any more info about our Bedding please get in touch using the Hammocky Contact Form on our Website :)
