Hi all,

I have just the one standard large 600 ml plastic water bottle that drips for a little bit after it's been used in the piggies cage to share as they don't really drink much from it normally but in the last couple of days it's been really hot here and they have been using it more but I notice that Coco will drink properly from it and Patchy will just drink the drips from the bottle afterwards. Often Patchy will just go up to the bottle and sniff it and run away. Should I be concerned that maybe Patchy doesn't know how to use the bottle or maybe she doesn't want to share a bottle with Coco or she's just lazy, she happily shares food bowls with Coco. They get cucumber twice a day at the moment while it's hot on top of other other veg so i'm not concerned she is dehydrated or anything. I guess I just want to know if there's some piggy rule against sharing a water bottle because of hierarchy or something.

I'd recommend having more than one water bottle and at different heights. At one point I also had different bottles as the sprouts were a little different that way it encouraged plenty of drinking. But piggies can 'but' out other piggies out of food bowls and drinking spouts.
As you are giving plenty of cucumber that will help with hydration.
