I moved the guinea pig run today to a fresh path of grass by the patio and put them in while I cleaned out the hutch. They were in there about an hour in total. I noticed after it was too late that there was a weed in there I didn’t recognise. I thought I knew all the weeds in our garden and I’ve looked lots of them up. I used the weed ID app and it says it is creeping buttercup and poisonous to piggies 😭. I don’t know how much (if any) they ate. Both seem fine. Not sure if this warrants a trip to out of hour vets as the normal vet is closed. I don't know what to do. Would you watch and see how they are or take them to a vet?

Hi!

Just keep a watch on them for 24 hours and contact your out-of-hours services in case one of the looks suddenly very off. If there has been plenty of fresh grass, it is unlikely that they have eaten creeping buttercup in my own experience from taking a few years of digging it up whenever I spotted it until it was gone for good. Grass and dandelion taste a lot better!

Thank you. Both seem well this morning thankfully but will keep a good eye on them today. The patch also had lots of grass/clover so Hopfully that was a lot more tempting!
