My guinea pigs live in our outhouse as we do not have the room to have them inside. I open the door in the daytime and close it at night. There is plenty of ventilation in there. Do you reckon this is ok and that they are warm enough in there? I have also put an old carpet on the roof the back and sides of the hutch and they have plenty of hay and shavings. ;D

An outhouse ? You mean thats connected to your house but leads to outside ? ?

If so is there protection from cats or foxes ?

Any piccies :D

I have all of mine in the shed outside, I don't worry about them being cold - afterall they are wild animals originally, so I don't think you'll be doing them much injustice. Just stuff their houses with hay ;D

the big problem is wet and cold and draughts!
and your out house sounds fine and the hutches sound really snug with all the extra carpets etc O0
mine are in my shed but get extra heating when cold But thats me !
