I have a perfect big unused space in my room but I have a few concerns. People w piggies in their bedroom, how do you get around the issues of hoover/hair dryer noise and stuff like using hairspray/dry shampoo. Do they get used to hoover noise or would I have to put somewhere else while I do it, (only takes a couple mins). And would opening the window be enough to stop them choking on hair sprays or should I get ready in the spare room next door 😂

They’ll get used to noise but you may not get used to theirs! Piggies don’t sleep for long and will be awake throughout the night making noises so they may well keep you awake!
As for the smells, then that is a no no. They cannot be anywhere around any perfumes, sprays or any scented items such as candles or plug ins. They have very sensitive sense of smell and such items could really cause them respiratory problems

Yeah I'd read how they just have naps rather than sleeping all night. Thanks I shall take it into consideration

LOL, I'm just imagining the piggies planning ways of getting you up during the night for a treat or some attention. They are master manipulators.
My hopes of getting piggies are rapidly dwindling 😭 got nowhere else they can go. And I value my sleep! So annoying we have a decent size house but somehow none of the rooms are really suitable and I'd really like them indoors

Why have the other rooms been discounted? Perhaps we can help with suggestions

The spare room is small and full of stuff, conservatory gets too hot and I doubt mum would want a cage ruining the aesthetic of her living room 😔 she was willing to use the conservatory but I got a room thermometer and it gets way too hot in there even on a miserable day. Sad times

I'm a pretty deep sleeper and my piggies never bothered me when we shared a room they do stay pretty quiet at night if you can sleep through the sound of water bottles and the occasional scuffle (my boys had a ramp at the time which caused quite a bit of noise). as for sprays that's a big no no it's roll on deodorant or getting ready in the bathroom for sure.

What is in the spare room that can't be moved around to make space for the cage? Perhaps you could use shelves in there to make it tidier and put them in there? If the cage sat on a table then you could use the underneath to store more things.

The only space is in front of a radiator currently. If I could persuade mum to get rid of the spare bed in there that would be a perfect spot for a table and cage but I expect she wants it in case we ever have a guest stay over (which never happens)

Inside is preferable, but Keeping them outside can be done but takes work to ensure they are warm enough in winter and not too hot in summer. Do you have a shed they could live in during the winter months?

Ultimately you could keep them in your bedroom if you wouldn’t mind any noise but you would have to keep all sprays etc out of your room and use only a bathroom

I have 2 boys in my room and one is 9 weeks old. They have a mad five minutes of popcorning and zoomies when we're in the room getting ready for bed but then they settle down once the light goes out.
Also my son's and daughter have piggies in their rooms and they've never woken cos of piggie noise.
I have the baby monitor on for the boys room at night too and never hear any piggie noises from it.
One trick to keep the water bottle 'quieter' is to make sure it's kept topped up. Once the water level drops the noise is so much louder.

I use roll ons and if I use perfume I'll go in the bathroom. They sneeze if I spray anything by mistake. They have sensitive little noses!
